Sleeping Posture

Ideally we spend about a third of our life sleeping and it is where we do the majority of our healing and rejuvenation. Therefore it’s essential to ensure we get our sleeping posture correct.

When sleeping we need to aim to keep our spine balanced:

Front Sleepers
∙ Avoid this posture as it requires your neck to be rotated and can lead to imbalances in the spine.

Back Sleepers
∙ This is the ideal position (as long as you don’t snore!) as your body is in good alignment.

∙ Choose a small pillow that keeps your head in line with your spine.

Side Sleepers
∙ Keep your spine straight

∙ Choose a pillow that is the width from your ear to your shoulder. Ask us about the pillow we recommend Complete Sleeprrr and/or borrow our trial pillow to see if it is right for you.

∙ Use a pillow between your legs if required (can be very helpful with low back pain and pregnancy)

Mattress
∙ Choose a mattress that is firm enough to keep your spine straight and meets your comfort requirements (you can have a firm mattress with a soft, medium or firm topper). Check out our guide for selecting a mattress.
